Abseiling for Charity
We are so proud to bring you this blog.
On Sunday 24th April 2016, we helped organise a fantastic and unique chance to abseil off Ripley Castle. Read the press release below:
Fundraisers have taken the plunge at Ripley Castle in aid of Yorkshire children's cancer charity Candlelighters.
Lady Emma Ingilby was the first of 45 people to complete a 40ft abseil off the roof of the stately home.
The event last month raised over £8,500.
Lady Ingilby, who is Candlelighters' patron, said: "I was delighted to meet so many families, including former patients, and knowing they are having fun raising money and taking on a challenge for Candlelighters."
Noemie Salvaudon, Event Fundraiser at Candlelighters, added: "We'd like to thank Lady Ingilby for allowing us to have the abseil at her beautiful family home, and Live For Today Adventures for running the event free of charge so that all the funds raised could go towards our work, supporting children with cancer in Yorkshire and their families.
"A special well done to our younger participants, aged as young as 8, especially Abi, 11, who raised almost £600."
Marc Wise, Director at Live For Today Adventures, said: "We are absolutely blown away by the support and money raised at Ripley Castle today. You can clearly see how this charity touches so many hearts and we will definitely be supporting the event again next year!"
